The secretary bird (Sagittarius serpentarius) is found in open, grassy country over much of Africa south of the Sahara. It stands around 3 feet high. It feeds on locusts, scorpions, rodents, snakes etc. This bird has been fed a dead boomslang. Zoological Garden, 1968.
